Low self confidence and low self esteem

Low self confidence and low self esteem

Although these terms are sometimes used interchangeably, there’s a difference between them, and how we might work therapeutically with these issues.

Perhaps your low self confidence is linked to the external world; – maybe you struggle to set realistic goals or feel you’re not achieving what you’d like to personally or professionally. We can agree together how it might look and feel for you to be more self confident, and how you might achieve this. We might also explore what’s at the root of your lack of confidence.

Self esteem is more about your relationship with yourself. In the counselling relationship, the experience of being accepted for who you are and hearing yourself outloud can help you to build your self esteem and perhaps to feel more comfortable in your own skin.
