Anxiety

Anxiety

Anxiety is associated with feelings of worry, fear and unease, but it’s different for everyone who experiences it. We can look together at how anxiety manifests for you in terms of your thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physical experience.

Counselling can help with anxiety by providing a space where you are truly seen and heard, perhaps helping you to feel valued and supported. The act of talking about your anxiety and unpicking your fears and worries with someone who is really listening, is helpful for many clients.

We might explore grounding techniques to support you, and we might reality check some of your anxious thinking. We can also explore ways that you can exercise self care, for example we might look at whether your relationship with social media, alcohol or sleep is serving you. Together, we can consider where you might seek comfort within yourself and from others.
